What is App Store Connect?
App Store Connect is not just for uploading a new build, but you can do much more there, such as designing your app's Store Listing, publishing different types of campaigns and promotions, and analyzing app performance analytics. Here developers can also publish new releases of the app. Are you an Apple developer and want to know more about App Store Connect? App Store Connect for Marketing
Store listing en ASO
App Store Optimization (ASO) is crucial for the growth of your app and in App Store Connect you can add and also tweak the app's descriptions, titles, keywords and screenshots to get more out of your store listing. Read here how you best improve your ASO and we immediately explain which rules apply for this in App Store Connect.
In-app Events
One of the promotion possibilities in App Store Connect are In-app Events. If potential users search for your app or similar mobile apps, your app is highlighted larger in the App Store search results with an In-app Event. In-app Events are mostly used for new features or seasonal content, so that your app stands out more and thus also gets more downloads. With In-app Events you can also use deep links to lead users to specific pages in your app.
Custom product pages
Everyone who searches for your app in the App Store automatically ends up on the standard Store Listing, but there are also options to set up personalized product pages in App Store Connect. With this you can promote new features or test a new design style. These product pages have their own URLs which you can use again in App Search Ads (ASA) or other promotion channels, such as social media, paid campaigns and/or email campaigns.
App Analytics
All performance metrics of your app are collected in handy overviews within App Analytics. Here you can see how many downloads, product page views and in-app purchases your app brings in. You also have insight into data points for user engagement, retention, click-through-rate (CTR) and conversion rates. If your app targets an international audience, you can also filter the analytics per country or region, to get specific insights into different markets. As a marketer, you can see here what is already going well and on which points you can improve. With custom reports, you can dive even deeper into the data by segmenting users and analyzing certain data points within specific timeframes.
Sales & Trends
If you offer a paid app or in-app purchases, there are also interesting data points to see in the Sales & Trends of App Store Connect. Keep track of the trends in your revenue and analyze in one overview per region how many payments have been made. With this information you can clearly see how effective certain marketing campaigns are and whether you can possibly tweak the prices.
What's New in App Store Connect Since September 2024?
Apple regularly adds new features, also for marketing purposes, to App Store Connect. These are the most recent updates from autumn 2024:
- Deep links in custom product pages: if you use custom product pages, you can now add deep links to specific pages or features in your app, which may also be related to the content of the custom page. This feature is also available for custom product pages in App Store Ads (ASA).

- Promote your app assets: in the App Store Connect mobile app you can choose from various milestones to share with your followers on social media, and Apple then generates multiple marketing assets that you can post directly. This is useful, for example, if you have released a new feature, or have another nice announcement.
- Featuring nominations (coming soon): if you have a new feature or update in your app, you can send it via Nominations to Apple's editorial team to possibly be featured in the App Store. Add a nice story about why this improvement is so important or special, for example if it contributes to the app's accessibility.
- Good to know: if you're going to adjust the Store Listing previews to improve your ASO, you now only need to upload the 6.9" formats. Previously it was also required to add 5.5" previews. The dimensions of the 6.9" screenshot are: 1290x2796 pixels or 1320x2868 pixels.
